Overview
Our weekly dance classes offer students the opportunity to receive expert tuition in a welcoming and supportive environment. They take place in our state-of-the-art ballet studios at the Royal Conservatoire’s Wallace Studios campus.
Our youngest dancers (3 and 4 years of age) will be introduced to dance by our professional teachers in a fun, friendly and structured class. In these weekly sessions they will develop their co-ordination, musicality, and be introduced to the basics of ballet and modern dance technique.
When children reach school age we offer classes that are a blend of ballet and modern dance. These styles complement each other and will develop the dancer’s physical, artistic and creative skills.
Dancers will attend the class relevant to their school age or level of ability. The uniform information for these classes will be provided on enrolment.

All school year groups are a suggestion of where you should start in your training. The class teacher will be able to advise the parent/ carer if they need to move to a more appropriate level for their stage when they have seen them dancing in the studio.
Dance for Ages 3 and 4
- This class is tailored to the needs of our youngest dancers, aged from 3 years, where they will begin to learn about ballet and modern dance technique in a fun and creative way.
Primary Dance Classes
- This is an open access course for children in primary 1 – 4 . No previous experience of ballet is needed to take part. The structure of the class is ballet focused but also includes a section of time spent on modern dance.
To prepare for your dance class please
- bring water to keep hydrated
- wear your dance uniform
- dance in ballet shoes for ballet and bare feet for modern
